I am wondering if Dementia and Alzheimer’s are not dark fruits of regret.

Most of the people I know who have Alzheimer’s and Dementia, it started after a great regret or loss. Something that caused them to spend more time in their past than their present.

I hate living in my past, is such filled with regret that I am filled with sorrow. It drowns my heart, and want my tongue to join it in alcohol. I don’t drink.

It pushes me into regret after regret, so I move forward, as to not be crowded out in regret.

One can learn from the past, but one cannot live there. It will rot and decay, and take you with it. Live in the present, reach into the future, learn new things, then when the past rots away, and vanishes, it does not carry you with it.

I think today was the last day that I lean and search for my past. It is my last day of regret. I have no more time for it.

My Lord, let me move forward in your wisdom, and not be held in place by my past. In Yeshua’s name, Amen.
