If you look at Biden’s appointments, just about all of them would be called criminals by the common person on the cases and charges placed against them. However, you add that they have histories of legal judgments against them, so now you know this is a nation ruled by criminals and thieves. Are we in a season of Darkness?
What is a season? By the modern Gregorian calendar, it is roughly three months. But then, if you look at other cultures, a season is marked by other events.
Biblically, there were two seasons, winter and summer. But there was also a season of rain. Did that last all winter or all summer? In the Palestinian area, Canaan’s land ran roughly from November to May 7 out of 12 months. So is it seven months or five months that mark a season?
A better definition of the season is based on what term is used with it. A rain season versus a hot season. A good season, or a season of sorrow. The term season means a marked amount of time.
With this in mind, are we in a season of darkness? Well, we need to know what is meant by darkness and light.
Darkness, according to the Baker’s Evangelical Dictionary of Biblical Theology, is an indication of the opposite of light. God is light, so the opposite of God is darkness. These things include wickedness, [man’s] judgementalism, and death.
If we look at natural darkness, as if you were wandering the wilderness in the dark, you would be surrounded by darkness, where there are all sorts of predators and crawly things. However, finding the light is as easy as just looking up.
When Christ Jesus (the Messiah Yeshua) was crucified, physical darkness spread across the land. When it lifted after 3 hours, the curtain that separated the holy of the holies from the people had been torn from top to bottom—the marking of the end of that darkness.
If you look at the Holman Bible Dictionary, the reference to darkness is the absence of light, signifying that God is not in that presence. In the book of Exodus, the plague of darkness that came over the Egyptians did not overcome the Hebrew. They were protected from it as they lived in the land of Goshen, a choice land in Egypt.
As Holman points out, God has no darkness in Himself, so if He chooses to withhold Himself from a people or event, then there is darkness.
Darkness or the withholding of God’s presence from his people is frequent throughout the scriptures. The Hebrew were frequently disobedient. Deuteronomy 28:29; 1 Samuel 2:9; Job 5:14; Job 15:30; Job 20:26; Psalm 107:10; Isaiah 47:5; Jeremiah 13:16; Ezekiel 32:8.
So the questions are:
- As a nation, are we being disobedient?
- As a nation, are we waging wars for the sake of the elite class, the kings and rulers of this world?
- As a nation, have we turned from His light to the darkness of this world?
- As a nation, are we now living according to Romans chapter 1, in which we have been given over to our destruction?
- As a nation, have we been given up to the lusts of our flesh?

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21 For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and they exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible mankind, of birds, four-footed animals, and crawling creatures.
Romans 1:18 – 32 NASB
24 Therefore God gave them up to vile impurity in the lusts of their hearts, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for falsehood, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature, 27 and likewise the men, too, abandoned natural relations with women and burned in their desire toward one another, males with males committing shameful acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a depraved mind, to do those things that are not proper, 29 people having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, and evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unfeeling, and unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
