Something I discovered about WordPress

History is not immutable.

If I delete a file, to free up storage space, it turns out that I am also deleting history.

I dropped an older version of Christian Freedom! and uploaded the newer version. The result is that all of my click history for the old version is now gone.

I was always taught that if you are going to build history files, then history has to be immutable in your logs. I guess WP history is not to be used as long term history.

Glad I have learned that now. So I will be copying my history into other files, so that I can manage a true Analytics history.

Please note: I still really like WordPress. So this isn’t a dig, more of an observation.
